Latest poll results released ahead of German elections: Far-right AfD's votes are rising

In German election polls, the Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU) are 14 points ahead of the ruling Social Democratic Party (SPD) with 29 percent of the vote. While the SPD is in 3rd place in the polls with 15 percent, the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) is estimated to have around 21 percent of the vote.
The far-right AfD has increased its votes by 4.6 points since June 2024. The ruling SPD, on the other hand, has lost 12.1 percent of its vote since the last federal election, falling to third place.
In Germany, the centrist parties SPD and CDU have lost their former popularity in recent years. The Green Party and the AfD began to gain strength from the beginning of the 2020s.
In the elections, the chancellor candidates of the SPD, CDU, Greens, and AfD are coming to the fore.
