Lavrov's remarks on Europe: They are preparing to fight us

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow has no intention of entering into a war with Europe, claiming that European countries are preparing for a conflict with Russia.

Responding to journalists' questions at the United Nations headquarters in New York as part of the 81st UN General Assembly, Lavrov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously stated that Russia has no goal of fighting Europe.

Lavrov said, "We have no intention of entering into a war with Europe. This is complete nonsense. However, Europe is preparing to fight us and reaffirms this every day. Europeans are saying that they must be ready for war by 2030 at the latest."

Criticizing Europe's defense spending and investments in arms production, Lavrov argued that this approach could turn into a self-fulfilling "prophecy."

The Russian minister suggested that after a certain stage, rearmament could increase the risk of conflict, stating, "At a certain point, someone keen on adventures might come out and say, 'We have accumulated all these weapons, what are we going to do with them now?'"

Continuing his remarks, Lavrov raised the claim that Europe could attack Russia, stating, "In such a scenario, they would attack us. We, however, have no intention of attacking them."
