Libya and Russia discuss strengthening bilateral relations
Tahir el-Baur, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs for Libya's Government of National Unity, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov have discussed strengthening bilateral relations.

According to a statement from the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baur and Lavrov met in the Russian city of Sochi.
During the meeting, issues on the agenda of the UN Security Council, as well as recent developments in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, were discussed.
Noting that Libya-Russia relations need to be strengthened, the two sides emphasized the importance of activating the joint committee between the two countries to develop cooperation in economic, commercial, and cultural fields.
Baur expressed his country's desire to develop relations with Russia in a way that serves the interests of both nations.
Lavrov also emphasized the depth of Russia's relations with Libya and expressed his country's support for efforts to ensure stability in Libya.
