Long-awaited statement on Syria from Russia! Where is Bashar al-Assad?

Jihadist groups led by HTS toppled the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria today after capturing Damascus following the attacks they launched on November 27.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in a statement regarding the latest developments in Syria, reported that Assad has left the country.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated, "As a result of negotiations with a number of participants in the armed conflict on Syrian territory, Bashar al-Assad decided to step down from the presidency and left the country, having given instructions for a peaceful transfer of power."

The statement included the phrases, "We will not participate in the power transfer negotiations. We call on all parties to refrain from violence. We support a multi-ethnic Syria."

IS ASSAD IN RUSSIA?

According to Reuters, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad boarded a plane at Damascus International Airport and departed for an unknown destination.

Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali said he did not know where Assad had been since last night.

Al-Jalali stated that he lost contact with Assad late last night.

As reported by NTV, recent reports suggest that Bashar al-Assad has fled to Russia, but no statement has been made by the Syrian government.

"PLANE'S TRACK DISAPPEARED FROM RADAR"

Assad, who left Syria, has not been found anywhere.

Unconfirmed information has been shared in the international press that Assad may have gone to Russia or some Middle Eastern countries.

Finally, on flight tracking websites on the internet, it was claimed that a plane, which was last seen west of Homs after taking off from the airport in Damascus but then disappeared from view, was carrying Bashar al-Assad.

Claims were made that the plane in question descended to an altitude of 1,600 feet and performed "unusual maneuvers" before disappearing from radar.
