French President Emmanuel Macron discussed developments in Gaza regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
According to a statement from the Elysee Palace, Macron stated during his phone call with his Egyptian counterpart Sisi that he requested the acceleration of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Emphasizing the "necessity of achieving a humanitarian ceasefire as soon as possible" in Gaza, Macron said that France is preparing to send its 4th medical aid plane to Gaza and that the plane, carrying 10 tons of aid, will reach the region at the beginning of the week.
In a statement regarding the meeting on the official website of the Egyptian Presidency, it was stated that Egypt's efforts in treating the wounded in Gaza and the evacuation of foreign nationals were discussed.
The statement noted that the parties agreed on ensuring the provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
