French President Emmanuel Macron responded to questions regarding the recognition of Palestine by stating that 'the appropriate environment does not exist,' following the recognition of Palestine by 4 European states.

Speaking to the TF1 and France 2 channels, Macron made statements regarding the situation in Ukraine and Palestine. While Macron noted that the recognition of the Palestinian state is 'not a taboo' and that his country has always supported a two-state solution, he expressed that there is no policy to recognize the country in the near future.

Stating that "the situation on the ground has not stabilized and the Palestinian Authority needs to reform," Macron noted that France will recognize the Palestinian state "when the element that will ensure peace and security for everyone in the region is formed."
