Maldives bans entry for Israeli citizens

The government of the Maldives has decided to amend its laws to ban individuals holding Israeli passports from entering the country.

According to a statement from the Office of the President of the Maldives, the Cabinet has decided to amend the law to prevent holders of Israeli passports from entering the Maldives.

A subcommittee is also planned to be established to monitor and oversee the legislative amendment.

Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu has also decided to launch a fundraising campaign in coordination with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and to appoint a special envoy for this purpose.

Muizzu is also preparing to organize a nationwide rally under the name "Maldivians in Solidarity with Palestine" to support Palestine.
