Message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Rwanda

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a message of condolence on the 30th anniversary of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in the Republic of Rwanda.

In the message issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated: “We remember with deep sorrow the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in the Republic of Rwanda on its 30th anniversary.

We once again commemorate those who lost their lives with respect; we share the pain of the friendly state and people of Rwanda and offer our condolences.

We appreciate the achievements Rwanda has made over the past thirty years in terms of ensuring social peace and national unity, as well as securing economic and social development. We wish for the environment of peace, stability, and prosperity in Rwanda to be permanent,” the statement read.

It was noted that Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yıldız will attend the ceremony to be held in Kigali, with the statement adding: “Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ahmet Yıldız will participate in the '30th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi' to be held in Kigali on April 7, 2024. 

We reiterate that Turkey stands against all forms of crimes against humanity, racism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, and extremist ideologies,” it was stated.
