CENTER HOSTING AWS INFRASTRUCTURE TARGETED
According to information reflected in the international press, the focus of the attacks was the Batelco headquarters, which hosts Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. It was reported that areas housing the infrastructure of Batelco, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the region, were targeted.
POWER OUTAGES AND TECHNICAL DAMAGE
According to Reuters and other international sources, the cause of the outages experienced in the AWS Bahrain region was explained as "intense drone activity."
While it was noted that data centers were directly or indirectly damaged in previous attacks, serious technical problems such as power outages, structural damage, and flooding caused by the activation of fire suppression systems emerged as a result of the incidents.
CRITICAL SERVICES DISRUPTED
In a statement made by Amazon, it was reported that the outages in cloud services in the region affected many critical services, from banking systems to airline reservations. It was stated that the company had to redirect users to different data centers.
