Molotov cocktail attack on the home of OpenAI CEO Altman

A Molotov cocktail attack was carried out on the home of Sam Altman, CEO of the leading US-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI, located in San Francisco, California.

In a statement regarding the incident, the San Francisco Police Department reported that a 20-year-old suspect attacked the 27 million dollar mansion belonging to Altman in the North Beach neighborhood with an incendiary device at approximately 04:12 local time.

It was stated that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident. The statement noted that emergency teams dispatched to the scene intervened in the fire at the building's exterior door.

Attacker threatened to set fire to OpenAI headquarters

Approximately an hour later, police received a report that a person near the OpenAI headquarters in the Mission Bay area of the city was making threats to set fire to the building.

Units dispatched to the scene confirmed that the individual was the same suspect who had attacked Altman's home. It was reported that the attacker, whose identity was not disclosed, was quickly taken into custody by the teams.

In a statement made by OpenAI via email, the developments were reaffirmed, stating, "This morning, an individual threw a Molotov cocktail at Altman's home and also made threats against our headquarters in San Francisco. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident."
