Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held his first online press conference since the start of the Israel-Iran conflict. Netanyahu made statements regarding the operation Israel has been conducting against Iran's nuclear and missile programs.
Stating that 10 Iranian scientists have been killed in Israeli strikes so far, Netanyahu said, "There are a few more left, and we will reach them too." The Israeli Prime Minister said that a "highly intense attack" was carried out on Iran's Natanz Nuclear Facility, destroying the factories where centrifuges are produced, and added, "We will continue to systematically destroy nuclear targets." Referring to the strikes on Iran's ballistic missile production facilities, Netanyahu said, "We hit the production factories one by one and we will continue to hit them. We have destroyed hundreds of ballistic missiles."
"WE ARE ELIMINATING THEM ONE BY ONE"
Addressing the strikes on Iran's military personnel, Netanyahu said, "We have neutralized Iran's security cadre, including three high-ranking military officials. We are eliminating them one by one."
"ISRAEL CONTROLS THE SKIES OVER TEHRAN"
Referring to the strikes on Iran's air force and air defense systems, Netanyahu said, "Israel controls the skies over Tehran. We have opened an air corridor to Tehran." Stating that Israel has "simply dismantled" the air defense network in western Iran and other regions, the Israeli Prime Minister said that half of Iran's drone inventory and key radar centers have also been destroyed.
"WE ARE ON THE PATH TO VICTORY"
Netanyahu also mentioned that Iranian headquarters, state television, and locations that "will be heard of soon" have been struck. Touching upon the evacuations in Israel, the Israeli Prime Minister said, "We are evacuating the public; people are leaving the cities. We are on the path to victory. Iran is also aware of this."
Regarding reports of Iran's attempts at dialogue to end Israel's attacks, Netanyahu said, "I am not surprised at all. They want to continue producing their weapons of death. One way or another, Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs will be destroyed; they might even do it themselves."
Pointing to previous statements by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Netanyahu said, "Even while Iranians were negotiating with the US, the 'dictator' Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was posting that 'Israel will be destroyed.' Israel will not be deceived regarding Iran's intentions."
"THE IRANIAN REGIME COULD FALL"
Stating that the "results will be significant," Netanyahu noted that Israel is insistent on three fronts, adding that they will do whatever is necessary until Iran's nuclear program, ballistic missile production, and 'axis of terror' are eliminated, and that they are acting in coordination with the US. Using the phrase, "The Iranian regime could fall based on these results," Netanyahu added, "Iran has weakened, and Israel can change the face of the Middle East."
The Israeli Prime Minister said, "There could be major changes in Iran. No one predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union. Very few people predicted the fall of the Assad regime days before it happened. I cannot predict the outcome of Israel's historic operation, but the fall of the Iranian regime could certainly be one of the results."
"WE ARE PERFORMING A ROOT CANAL"
When asked how much damage was done to Iran's nuclear program as a result of Israel's attacks, Netanyahu replied, "You know, if you have a cancer that threatens you with death, you cut it out. You can try different treatments, but one day it might reappear. But I think we have set them back significantly. We will not stop. We are truly performing a root canal."
"WE SPEAK WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP ALMOST EVERY DAY"
Netanyahu stated that "the U.S. is helping us" and noted that he speaks with U.S. President Donald Trump almost every day. Netanyahu added, "Trump will make the decision that is best for America. We would welcome any assistance."
When asked whether Israel could neutralize Iran's nuclear program without attacking the Fordo facility and without U.S. assistance, Netanyahu replied, "We are determined to eliminate the Iranian nuclear program, which is an existential threat. We are succeeding in this right now, and we will not give up."
Touching on the situation in Gaza, Netanyahu said, "We will not give up on our hostages in Gaza either. We will bring them all back. Fighting this axis led by Iran also supports this goal of ours."
Regarding questions about plans to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Netanyahu responded, "I will not go into the details of our war plans. We will do whatever needs to be done. We are on the path to victory."
