Netanyahu approves 'restrictions on Al-Aqsa Mosque' during Ramadan

It has been reported that Netanyahu has approved restrictions on the entry of Palestinians to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan. The report stated that a limited number of Palestinians will be allowed into the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan. Netanyahu expressed his view on the matter following a call by Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to ban Palestinians from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan.

According to a report by Israel's Channel 13, despite warnings from the internal security agency Shin Bet (Shabak) that there could be clashes between Palestinians within Israel and the police, Netanyahu has approved the restriction of Palestinian access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan.

It was noted that a final decision on this matter is expected to be made in the coming days.

The report stated that a limited number of Palestinians will be allowed into the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan.

"NOT YET CLEAR"

Meanwhile, Israeli War Cabinet member Benny Gantz stated on his X social media account, "Restrictions will be imposed regarding the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan, but what these will be is not yet clear."

Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir had previously called for a ban on Palestinians entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan in a post on his X social media account.

According to reports in the Israeli press in recent days, the Shin Bet had warned politicians that restricting the entry of Palestinians from Israeli territory (territories occupied in 1948) and Jerusalem to Al-Aqsa would cause major security problems.

Since October 7, Israeli police have been imposing restrictions on entry to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly on Fridays.
