Netanyahu convenes security cabinet: Is a major attack on Iran imminent?

It has been stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with the restricted security cabinet today following a "limited" consultation meeting.

According to a report by the newspaper Yediot Ahronot, Netanyahu will hold a consultation meeting at 17:30, followed by a meeting with the restricted security cabinet at 19:30.

While no information was provided regarding the content or participants of the consultation meeting, it was stated that the security cabinet meeting would address issues such as a potential attack on Iran, the state of war in Lebanon, and the distribution of aid to northern Gaza.

IS A MAJOR ATTACK ON IRAN IMMINENT?

Citing unnamed Israeli sources, the newspaper included a claim stating, "A major attack on Iran will take place in the coming days; all preparations for this have been completed." The report also shared information that there are assumptions that Iran will respond to potential attacks, and for this reason, defense systems such as the U.S. Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery have been deployed to the region.

It was noted that following Iran's attack on Israel on October 1 with approximately 200 ballistic missiles, Israel is expected to launch a comprehensive counter-attack, raising concerns that the conflicts in the region, which have been ongoing since October 7, 2023, could rapidly intensify and expand.
