In his post, Netanyahu stated that the US House of Representatives' passage of the aid package, which Israel "appreciates," signifies that Israel is supported by both the Democratic and Republican parties and represents a "defense of Western civilization."
A $9 billion portion of the $26 billion package allocated to Israel is earmarked for humanitarian aid to be used in various conflict zones, including Gaza.
The Republican-majority House of Representatives ended a 6-month political stalemate, approving a $95 billion bill that includes aid for Israel and Taiwan, at a time when the Kyiv administration's stockpiles are running low in its war against Russia.
MORE THAN 34 THOUSAND PALESTINIANS HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson acted with Democrats to overcome objections within his own party, and the bill was passed with 311 votes in favor to 122 against, with bipartisan support.
In Israel's nearly 7-month-long continuous attacks on Gaza, more than 34 thousand Palestinians, mostly women and children, have lost their lives, and approximately 78 thousand people have been injured.
According to human rights organizations, the 2.3 million Palestinians living in the 360-square-kilometer area, who have been subjected to ground invasion and heavy bombardment following Israel's 16-year blockade, are experiencing one of the most severe humanitarian catastrophes of the 21st century.
