Netanyahu shared his thoughts on the post-war period in an interview aired on ABC News on Monday night.
When asked who should "govern" Gaza after the fighting ends, Netanyahu replied, "Israel will, for an indefinite period, have the overall security responsibility. Because we've seen what happens when we do not have that security responsibility."
This statement by Netanyahu was interpreted as the clearest indication yet that Israel plans to keep the territory, which is home to 2.3 million Palestinians, under tight control.
