The "Peace Summit" organized for Gaza in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh begins today.

It had been noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was also invited to the summit, which AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will also attend.

While it was initially stated that Netanyahu would attend the summit, the latest statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office noted that Netanyahu will not be attending the summit in Egypt.

The statement from the Prime Minister's Office said, "Prime Minister Netanyahu was invited by US President Trump to a summit to be held in Egypt today. The Prime Minister thanked President Trump for the invitation, but stated that he would not be able to attend the summit due to its proximity to the start of the holiday."
