Netherlands to deploy 2 Patriot systems to Poland

As diplomatic efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine War continue, countries in the region are taking new steps regarding security.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz stated at a press conference that the Netherlands will deploy 2 Patriot air defense systems to Poland at the beginning of December to ensure the security of Polish airspace.

"Due to what is happening in Ukraine, the ongoing conflict, and Poland's role in ensuring the security of logistical transfers to Ukraine, the Netherlands has declared that it will provide support with systems that will ensure the security of our airspace," said Kosiniak-Kamysz, noting that in addition to the Patriot systems, nearly 300 Dutch soldiers and anti-UAV systems will also be deployed in Poland.

"WE ARE READY TO SEND TROOPS TO UKRAINE"

The Czech Ministry of Defense announced that they are prepared to send troops to Ukraine for a stabilization mission in the event that a ceasefire agreement is signed between Russia and Ukraine. Czech Ministry of Defense spokesperson David Szima stated, "The Czech Republic is part of the Coalition of Volunteers and coordinates all its activities closely with its partners. We do not rule out assistance to Ukraine in connection with compliance with a peace agreement." Szima emphasized that the Prague administration does not foresee the active participation of Czech soldiers in armed conflicts. Szima noted that Czech soldiers could engage in activities such as training Ukrainian soldiers, mine clearance, and efforts to assist in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

France, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania had also previously announced their readiness to send troops to Ukraine.
