New development in assassination attempt on Trump: Decision made regarding Secret Service employees

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was subjected to an armed attack at a rally he held in Pennsylvania.

A new development has occurred in the investigation into the assassination attempt that dominated the world's agenda.

According to a report by The Hill citing an unnamed source, at least five Secret Service agents were given "administrative leave" as a disciplinary measure, which prevents employees from participating in operations.

It was stated that the personnel responsible for security planning during Trump's rally was also among those placed on "administrative leave."

Although the Secret Service did not make a direct statement regarding the disciplinary actions in question, it noted that "Identified and substantiated violations will be investigated for potential disciplinary action by the Office of Professional Responsibility."

ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON TRUMP

Former U.S. President Donald Trump was subjected to an armed attack while addressing his supporters from the podium at a rally in the Butler area of Pennsylvania on July 13; 1 person attending the rally died, 2 people were injured, and the U.S. Secret Service announced that the attacker had been neutralized.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defined the attack as an assassination attempt and, following investigations, announced that the person who carried out the attempt and was killed at the scene was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who faced criticism after former U.S. President Donald Trump was shot during his election rally, resigned on July 23.

Roland Rowe, who became Acting Director after Cheatle, testified before a Senate committee on July 30 regarding the assassination attempt and stated that he could not "defend" why the roof from which the assassination attempt on Trump was carried out had not been secured.
