New development in Gérard Depardieu's sexual assault case

The sexual assault case against French actor Gérard Depardieu has been dropped because it reached the statute of limitations.

While 13 women have accused Depardieu of sexual abuse, actress Hélène Darras filed a complaint last year. The Paris Public Prosecutor's Office announced that it had dismissed the case due to legal time limits.

'I HAVE NEVER ABUSED ANYONE'

The 75-year-old Depardieu published an open letter in the French newspaper Le Figaro defending himself, in which he stated, "I have never abused a woman."

Last month, 56 French celebrities, including Carla Bruni and Charlotte Rampling, also defended Depardieu, describing the accusations as a "lynching."
