A new detail has come to light in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed during an event held at Utah Valley University. In a video published on social media, moments were seen where a figure wearing dark clothing runs on the roof of a building overlooking the university courtyard.
In the video, the suspect is recorded running for a few seconds on the roof of the Losee Center building on the upper left side. The figure, seen running for approximately two seconds as the camera pans, is located about 140 meters away from the spot where Kirk was shot.
POLICE AND WITNESS STATEMENTS MATCH FOOTAGE
In another video taken shortly after the incident, it was seen that the area near the same roof was cordoned off with yellow police tape and a small group of police officers was present in the area. Utah Valley University spokesperson Ellen Treanor stated, "The fire came from the direction of the Losee Center."
Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason also stated that the attack took place "with shots fired from a roof and from a long distance." Mason also stated that the suspect was wearing dark clothing.
Charlie Kirk, 31, a close ally of Trump and founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck during the attack. Kirk, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life despite all interventions.
THOSE DETAINED WERE RELEASED
Following the attack, at least two people were detained but were later released. The Utah Department of Public Safety assessed that "the gunman fired at the public event in the student courtyard from the roof of a building."
