Donald Trump answered questions from members of the press after discussing economic developments during his presidency. Trump stated that "the talks were quite productive" regarding the Russia-Ukraine war.
Stating that he would decide on new sanctions against Russia in the future, Trump noted that a 50 percent tax is currently being applied to Russia.
Trump spoke as follows:
There is a possibility that we are coming to the end of the war; the possibility of a meeting with Putin and Zelensky is quite high... We ended 5 wars, we eliminated Iran's capacity to reach nuclear weapons.
Thousands of people are losing their lives, a lot of missiles were falling on Kyiv... A large number of soldiers lost their lives, this is not my war but I want to end it. This was Biden's war, it started on his watch. If I had been president at that time, this war would definitely not have started; I am here to end this war.
We have made great progress with Putin, we have made significant progress with Russia.
