New York Attorney General Letitia James may request the seizure of former president Donald Trump's assets on Monday. It is alleged that the Attorney General may file a petition with the court to freeze his assets, coinciding with the March 25 deadline for paying the $454 million bond required in the fraud case against Trump.
According to a report by CNN, it is possible for the attorney general to apply to the court to freeze Trump's assets. In the report, for which CNN did not cite a source, it was written that the New York Attorney General's office is preparing to do so.
Shortly after the verdict was announced in the fraud case, Trump's campaign team called on his supporters to make donations.
In the messages shared, Trump's campaign team used the phrase, "Keep your filthy hands off Trump Tower!"
Two days ago, Trump's lawyers stated that 30 surety companies had rejected Trump, and that it was 'practically impossible' to pay a bond covering the entire $454 million fraud judgment while the case is under appeal.

Trump's companies, the Trump Organization, and top executives, including his sons Eric Trump and Donald Jr. Trump, appealed the ruling issued earlier this year by Judge Arthur Engoron, who found that they had spent years planning to deceive banks and insurers by inflating Trump's wealth. It was determined that Trump's companies manipulated financial statements used to secure loans and make financial deals.
Engoron ordered Trump to pay $355 million plus interest. This penalty rose to over $450 million at the time of the ruling; the $112,000 in daily interest required for the bond during the appeal process was also added to the penalty. This penalty came after the order for Trump to pay $83.3 million (in addition to the $5 million penalty awarded by a jury last year) for sexually assaulting writer E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s.
Trump's campaign team shared a message written as if from Trump, stating:
"Before the day is out, I am calling on one million pro-Trump patriots to step up."
The financial support given to Trump's campaign has so far remained far below the requested levels. The former US president's campaign has not yet approached the amount of money raised during the same periods of his previous presidential campaigns.
