Nicolas Maduro wins presidential election in Venezuela
Elvis Amoroso, President of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela, announced that incumbent President Nicolas Maduro has won the presidential election.

In his statement, Amoroso noted that 80 percent of the ballot boxes have been opened and announced that Maduro, the candidate for the Great Patriotic Pole (Gran Polo Patriotico), won the presidential election in which 10 candidates competed.
According to the initial results, Maduro secured his third term as president with 51.20 percent of the vote.
Edmundo Gonzalez, the candidate for the opposition coalition Unitary Democratic Platform (PUD), is in second place with 44.20 percent.
CNE President Amoroso stated that the detailed results regarding the candidates will be published in tables on the CNE website in the coming hours.
It was stated that the voter turnout was 59 percent.
The winning candidate will be sworn in as the country's new president on January 10, 2025.
