In a written statement from the Media Office of the government in Gaza, information was provided regarding the journalists killed in the Gaza Strip, which has been under attack by the Israeli army since October 7, 2023.
The statement indicated that journalists Zehra Muhammed Ebu Suheyl, Ahmed Muhammed Ebu Suheyl, Mustafa Hıdr Bahr, and Abdurrahman Hıdr Bahr were killed as a result of Israeli attacks.
Noting that Mustafa Bahr was killed on March 31 and Abdurrahman Bahr on October 6, the statement did not provide information as to why the deaths were not announced at the time.
In the statement, the number of media members who have lost their lives since October 7, 2023, when Israel began its genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, was updated to 188.
The statement strongly condemned Israel's targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists, holding Israel responsible for this crime, which it described as "heinous."
The statement called on the international community and international organizations related to journalism to file lawsuits against Israel in international courts for the crimes it has committed, and to pressure Israel to stop the crime of genocide and the murders and assassinations of Palestinian journalists.
