According to a report by Axios, the survey asked 2,542 people over the age of 50 and 770 people under the age of 50 who do not have children whether they wanted to have children. 47 percent of the participants stated that they did not want to have children.

In a survey conducted in the US in 2018, the rate of those who did not want to have children was 37 percent, while it was 44 percent in 2021.

While the majority of those who participated in the survey stated that they simply did not want to have children, some reported that "the state of the world is not suitable for raising children," and some stated that "their budgets are not sufficient to raise children."

While 64 percent of women said they did not want to have children, this rate was found to be 50 percent among men.
