Numerous companies in the UK switch to 4-day work model: Decision to be 'permanent'

200 companies in the UK operating in various sectors have announced that they have permanently switched to a four-day work week model.

The UK-based 4 Day Week Foundation has announced that 200 companies from across the country have joined its campaign to transition to a 4-day work model.

These companies, which have a combined workforce exceeding 5,000 employees, have adopted the principle of a four-day work week on a permanent basis. It was reported that the weekly work schedule in these companies will be set at 32 hours without any loss in pay.

Marketing, advertising, and public relations firms account for 30 of these companies, followed by 29 charities and non-profit organizations, 24 technology, internet technology, and software companies, and 22 consulting and management firms.

Of the 200 companies participating in the four-day work week principle, 59 are based in London.
