Obama responds to Trump's 'treason' and 'coup' accusations

Former US President Barack Obama has responded to US President Donald Trump's accusations of "treason" and "coup" against him through his office. In a statement released by Obama's office, it was noted that the document published by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence does not invalidate the widely accepted consensus that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 US Presidential Election but failed to manipulate the votes.

The statement said, "There is nothing in the document released last week that contradicts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 presidential election but was unsuccessful in manipulating any votes."

Addressing the serious accusations Trump leveled against Obama during a press conference at the White House today, the statement added, "These bizarre accusations are both absurd and a feeble attempt to distract from other issues."

TRUMP HAD ACCUSED OBAMA OF ATTEMPTING A COUP

US President Trump accused Obama of treason during a press conference at the White House today, claiming that Obama was the person leading the campaign to link him to Russia during the 2016 presidential election process. Stating that Obama is guilty and should be put on trial, Trump said, "There is indisputable evidence that Obama was involved in treason. Obama was trying to lead a coup attempt. He did this with Hillary Clinton and others. But Obama was at the head of it."

In a report released last Friday by US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, the Obama administration was accused of fabricating intelligence suggesting that Russia intervened in the 2016 elections in favor of Trump.
