Former United States President Barack Obama commented that "we are all complicit" in the Gaza war, stating that "nobody's hands are clean."

In an interview with Pod Save America, Obama said, "If you want to solve the problem, then you have to take in the whole truth. And you then have to admit nobody's hands are clean, that all of us are complicit to some degree."

Obama condemned Hamas's actions but emphasized that "the occupation and what is happening to Palestinians is unbearable."

Obama said, "All of this is taking place against the backdrop of decades of failure to achieve a durable peace based on a two-state solution, one that secures Israel's future as a Jewish and democratic state and that upholds the Palestinians' right to self-determination and a life of dignity and security."

Two weeks ago, Obama warned Israel that its actions in the war against Hamas, including cutting off food and water to Gaza, could "harden Palestinian attitudes for generations" and weaken international support for Israel.
