Opposition jihadist groups in Syria enter Deir ez-Zor, occupied by PKK/YPG
Jihadist groups led by HTS, which toppled the Assad administration in Syria, are advancing toward the center of Deir ez-Zor, which had fallen under the occupation of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG as they attempt to gain territory in the east of the country.

Jihadist groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which launched an operation against the Assad administration in Syria on November 27, captured the capital, Damascus, today (December 8).
Following the entry of the opposition into Damascus, it was learned that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had left the city. The 61-year-old Baath regime in Syria has collapsed.
According to information reported by AA from local sources, anti-Assad jihadist groups in Syria began entering the center of the city of Deir ez-Zor, which was held by the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, following the collapse of the Baath regime.
ASSAD FORCES HAD LEFT DEIR EZ-ZOR TO THE PKK
The Syrian Army withdrew some of its forces stationed in the eastern province of Deir ez-Zor, on the Iraqi border, on December 6, leaving the city center to the occupation of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG.
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN SYRIA?
Clashes between Assad regime forces and anti-regime armed groups began on November 27 in the western countryside of Aleppo province in northern Syria.
On November 30, anti-regime groups, having taken most of the center of Aleppo from regime forces, established control over the entirety of Idlib on the same day. Following intense clashes, the groups took the city center of Hama from regime forces on December 5.
Anti-regime groups had begun to advance in the strategically important Homs province, which opens to the capital Damascus, by capturing several settlements there.
Military opposition forces, which launched an operation on December 6 in the Deraa province on Syria's Jordanian border, recaptured the city center from regime forces following the clashes.
The entirety of the As-Suwayda province in the south of the country also came under the control of opposition groups on December 7. On the same day, local opposition forces in Quneitra also secured control of the city center.
Groups advancing against Assad regime forces southwest of Damascus also entered the southern suburbs of the capital on December 7.
In Homs province, which opens to the capital, anti-regime forces took control of the city center on December 7.
In the Dawn of Freedom Operation launched by the Syrian National Army against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in the Aleppo countryside on December 1, the Tel Rifaat district center was liberated from terrorism.
