CHP Chairman Özgür Özel is traveling to the United States (US) to attend the Socialist International Presidium meeting. Özel will depart from Istanbul for New York on Tuesday, September 24.
Özgür Özel, who was elected as a Vice President at the Socialist International Council meeting held in Spain on February 25, will be attending this meeting for the first time. Özel is scheduled to deliver a speech at the meeting, which will take place in New York on Wednesday, September 25.
HE WILL READ THE ANKARA DECLARATION
The CHP leader will read the Ankara Declaration, which was prepared during the 20th Extraordinary Statute Congress held in Ankara between September 4-8, at the meeting. This declaration was drafted in collaboration with the Socialist International Committee.
It is also expected that Özel will make a call for peace regarding the war in Palestine during the meeting.

ERDOĞAN IS ALSO IN THE US
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also traveled to the US on September 21 to attend the 79th United Nations (UN) General Assembly. Erdoğan will deliver a speech from the UN podium on September 24 and will continue his contacts in the US until September 26.
It is stated that Özgür Özel will also hold some bilateral meetings during his visit to the US. Özel and his delegation will return to Turkey on September 26.
