Sharif shared a post regarding the matter on his account on the social media platform X, owned by the US-based company.

Expressing his gratitude to Trump for accepting the request to extend the ceasefire to allow diplomatic efforts to continue, Sharif stated that Pakistan will continue its efforts toward a negotiated resolution of the conflict.

Sharif stated, "I sincerely hope that both sides will maintain the ceasefire and that a comprehensive 'peace agreement' will be reached during the second round of negotiations planned to be held in Islamabad with the aim of bringing a permanent end to the conflict."

US President Trump had announced that, upon Pakistan's request, he had decided to extend the ceasefire until Iran presents its proposal for the agreement.
