Palestine calls for all measures to be taken against Israel's nuclear weapon threat to Gaza
Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki has requested that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi take measures to neutralize Israel's threats regarding the use of nuclear weapons against Gaza.

Minister Maliki sent a message to IAEA Director General Grossi regarding the threat made by Israel's far-right Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu to use a nuclear bomb against the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Stating that the threat from the Israeli minister, who said that "dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza is among the possibilities," is a threat to all countries, Maliki noted that the IAEA and its member states must urgently address this issue.
Maliki requested that "Israel's threats be condemned and that all measures be taken to neutralize this clear threat to the right to life of the Palestinian people and neighboring countries."
Describing these statements as "the leaking of ideas circulating in Israeli cabinet meetings to destroy Gaza and commit genocide against the Palestinian people," Maliki argued that this is also fully consistent with the prevailing discourse in Israel.
''IT IS AN ADMISSION THAT ISRAEL POSSESSES NUCLEAR WEAPONS''
"This counts as an official admission that Israel possesses nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction. The occupying power has developed nuclear weapons through illegal means. It has refused to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons," said Maliki, adding that the threat of using nuclear weapons in Gaza aims to escalate the conflict and deepen the occupation.
Israeli Minister Eliyahu had recently stated in a radio program he attended that using a nuclear bomb was one of the possibilities for Gaza.
Following this statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suspended Eliyahu from cabinet meetings indefinitely.
Former Prime Minister Yair Lapid had called on Netanyahu to dismiss Eliyahu.
Following the reactions to his scandalous remarks regarding the Gaza Strip, Eliyahu took a step back and claimed that his statement about the nuclear bomb was "metaphorical.".
