Palestine: Israel's attacks prevent the implementation of a ceasefire in Gaza

Palestinian Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh stated that Israel is preventing the implementation of the ceasefire agreement by continuing its attacks in the Gaza Strip.
According to the report by the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Abu Rudeineh noted that despite the announcement of an agreement regarding the second phase of the ceasefire, Israel continues its attacks against Palestinians.
Stating that Israel killed 19 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip the previous day, Abu Rudeineh argued that the second phase of the ceasefire has become "an agreement on paper, but death on the ground." The Palestinian spokesperson expressed that the agreement has failed to ensure a complete cessation of attacks and the protection of the Palestinian people.
Saying that Israel continues to target Palestinians in the occupied West Bank as well as Gaza, Abu Rudeineh called on the international community, and specifically the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill their responsibilities.
Abu Rudeineh demanded that Israel be compelled to immediately implement the second phase of the ceasefire, that attacks on the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza be stopped, and that urgent international protection be provided for the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian official emphasized that exempting Israel from accountability encourages violations of international law and international humanitarian law, stressing that security and stability in the region will only be possible with the end of the occupation and the cessation of attacks.
''1,250 PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES SINCE THE CEASEFIRE''
According to the information shared, 1,250 people have lost their lives and 4,110 people have been injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza since the ceasefire went into effect on October 10; the lifeless bodies of 804 people have been recovered from under the rubble.
It was noted that the total death toll from attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has risen to 73,375, and the number of injured has reached 174,220.
