Palestinian official announces: 'Northern Gaza has turned into a mass grave'

Information regarding the casualties in Gaza, which Israel has been attacking for more than 15 months, has begun to emerge. Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense Directorate in Gaza, reported that the bodies of many people have been lost due to war conditions.
Basal stated that it has become almost impossible to recover bodies from under the rubble in the absence of heavy machinery.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense Directorate in Gaza, expressed the following words regarding the latest situation in the region in his statement:
'The bodies of the martyrs are mixed with rubble and soil. Northern Gaza has turned into a mass grave. We are talking about a humanitarian catastrophe here in every sense. The bodies on the streets were either torn apart by stray dogs or lost under the rubble.'
Speaking to AA, Basal stated that the bodies currently being recovered are only those on the surface or those reachable with simple tools, and noted that clearing the rubble in the region with existing equipment could 'take more than 50 years.'
Stating that the teams are working under great risk due to Israeli explosives and remnants, Basal used the expression, 'We do not know what is under the rubble; there could be unexploded bombs, rockets, or mines.'
URGENT CALL FOR AID TO GAZA
Stating that Civil Defense teams are facing the risk of losing their lives due to a lack of personal protective equipment, Basal called on the world for 'urgent intervention to end the suffering of the people of Gaza.'
Addressing the Arab world, the international community, and the United Nations, Basal requested that 'heavy machinery and expert teams be provided to assist civil defense teams in rubble removal and body recovery operations.'
The Gaza Civil Defense Agency announced yesterday that the bodies of 66 Palestinians had been recovered from buildings in different parts of the Gaza Strip.
In Israel's attacks lasting over 15 months, at least 47,107 Palestinians, including 17,841 children and 12,298 women, have been killed, and 111,147 people have been injured in the Gaza Strip.
It is reported that there are still thousands of dead under the rubble.
