Palestinian Prime Minister's call to the West

According to a written statement from the Prime Minister's office, Shtayyeh met with several ambassadors, consuls, and representatives in Palestine at his office in Ramallah. Addressing the Israeli attacks in his speech, Shtayyeh said, "International support given to Israel in its attacks means giving permission, giving a green light for more killing and destruction."

CALLED ON THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

The Palestinian Prime Minister called on the international community, as well as friendly and brotherly countries, to "act as a united front and take action to pressure Israel to stop its attacks on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, halt plans for displacement and ground attacks in the region, and not block the entry of medical and aid supplies into the Gaza Strip."

"A GREAT HUMANITARIAN CATASTROPHE"

Emphasizing that an effective political process must be established and initiated for "the end of the occupation, the implementation of the two-state solution, and the establishment of a Palestinian state," Shtayyeh stated, "Our top priority is to stop the attacks and ensure the entry of health and aid supplies into the region to prevent a great humanitarian catastrophe threatening our people in the Gaza Strip."

Pointing out that this is the "sixth war" against the Gaza Strip, Shtayyeh noted that "successive governments in Israel, especially the far-right government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, have adopted a strategy of systematically destroying the possibility of a two-state solution."

"WE ARE FACING THE TERRORISM OF JEWISH SETTLERS"

Stating that the Netanyahu government is pursuing a "divide and rule" policy with its attempts to separate the Gaza Strip from the Palestinian national project, Shtayyeh continued:

"In addition to the attacks on our people in the Gaza Strip, we are also facing the terrorism of occupation forces and Jewish settlers in the West Bank. There are calls to encourage Jewish settlers to carry weapons and to change the rules of engagement to allow for more killing."

"THE ISSUE IS DELIBERATELY IGNORED"

On the other hand, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a written statement that "Israeli officials deliberately ignore the Palestinian issue and underestimate international positions calling for the acceleration of a solution to this problem."

The statement, which noted that Israeli officials, whether political or military, "regardless of their names," continue to beat the drums of destructive war, added that this means committing more crimes.
