A passenger bus has fallen into a river in the Andes Mountains in northern Peru. 25 people lost their lives in the accident, and 13 others were injured.
Cajamarca Regional Prosecutor Olga Bobadilla stated in her announcement that the bus fell into the river from a hillside while traveling to the town of Sorochuco yesterday evening, adding, "Information is still being gathered as the accident occurred on a very rugged and unpaved road at night and the bus fell into the river."
It was reported that a 3-day mourning period has been declared in the town of Celendin, from where the bus departed.
