Nine carriages of a passenger train traveling from Vorkuta to Novorossiysk derailed in the Komi Republic, Russia.
Numerous search and rescue teams and ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
The Russian Ministry of Health announced that, according to initial findings, approximately 50 people were pulled from the carriages with injuries, and 7 of the injured are in critical condition.
The Investigative Committee of Russia announced that an investigation has been launched into the derailment of the carriages.
According to initial assessments, it is suspected that heavy rainfall caused damage to the tracks, which may have led to the accident.
