Pentagon announces: Hypersonic missiles to be deployed to Germany

In a statement from the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon), it was stated that the U.S. will begin deploying long-range strike systems, including hypersonic weapons, to Germany starting in 2026.
The statement included the phrase, "The U.S. will begin episodic deployments of the long-range fires capabilities of its Multi-Domain Task Force in Germany in 2026, as part of planning for these conventional long-range fires to be stationed permanently in the future."
It was noted that conventional long-range fire units will include SM-6, Tomahawk missiles, and hypersonic weapons currently under development.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that the U.S. and German governments have reached the necessary agreement on the matter.
It is suggested that the new weapons will have a much greater range than the current land-based weapons in Europe.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin had stated that following the U.S. withdrawal from the INF Treaty, Russia has the right to begin the development and production of medium- and short-range missile systems and would begin producing such weapons.
