Person shot with police taser dies

A 30-year-old man who was tasered by police in Montfermeil, a suburb of the French capital Paris, has died in the hospital where he was taken.

According to reports in the French press, police were notified on January 3 at around 11:20 p.m. local time that a fight had broken out at a grocery store in Montfermeil and that an intoxicated person was behaving aggressively.

The police team that arrived at the scene identified the individual as 30-year-old Killian S.

According to police sources, Killian S., who had gone behind the counter at the grocery store, was acting aggressively and damaging items in the shop; despite attempts to calm him down, he kicked an officer.

THEY USED IT MORE THAN 10 TIMES

The police used their tasers on Killian S. more than 10 times.

Killian S., whose heart stopped twice, was taken to the hospital, but he passed away this morning after falling into a coma.

An investigation into the incident has been opened, and the 18 police officers on duty that day have begun giving statements.
