Poland issues diplomatic note to Russia
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a diplomatic note to Russia following the crash of a Russian UAV into a cornfield in the village of Osiny, in the country's southeast.

Poland issued a protest note to the Russian Embassy in Warsaw after a Russian UAV crashed into a cornfield in the village of Osiny, located in the Lublin region, 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border yesterday.
Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Pawel Wronski stated that the note highlights Russia's violation of its obligations to respect Poland's sovereignty, the 1992 Treaty on Friendly and Good-Neighborly Cooperation, and various norms of customary law, adding that according to the Polish Foreign Ministry, this incident was a deliberate provocation.
"This is an element of hybrid warfare, an extremely unfriendly act against Poland and European countries. We condemn all actions that pose a threat to the civilian population, infrastructure, and air traffic safety," Wronski said, noting that they have demanded an explanation from Russia regarding the incident and an end to such provocative actions.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz announced at a press conference yesterday that they had determined the foreign object that exploded in the village of Osiny was a Russian version of an Iranian-made Shahed UAV.
Deputy Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces Dariusz Malinowski stated that the UAV was a decoy drone carrying a self-destruct charge rather than a warhead, adding that the drone was very difficult to detect and likely flew at a very low altitude to avoid radar.
