Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has made a statement regarding the increasing presence of German soldiers in Poland. Speaking to the press, Tusk told Poles not to be afraid and informed the public about why the Germans are in their country.
The Prime Minister stated that the German soldiers are on their soil to voluntarily help fight the floods in Poland.
Tusk said, 'If you see German soldiers, do not panic. They are here to help.'
Speaking to Polish state television TVP, Tusk noted that they are trying to combat Storm Boris. Pointing out that the German soldiers came 'voluntarily,' the Polish Prime Minister conveyed his thanks to the soldiers.
Following Storm Boris, thousands of people were evacuated from dozens of settlements in Poland. Local media reported that some roads and houses in Poland have collapsed so far due to the flooding.
