The Pope stated that the sound of weapons continues in the lands where Jesus was born, noting that the children who have died are "little Jesuses."
Stating that he is "begging for the weapons to fall silent" between the parties, the Pope said, "Tonight, our hearts are in Bethlehem, where the Prince of Peace is once again rejected by the futile logic of war."
