It has been reported that the death penalty handed down to a former primary school principal in China's Gansu province for "rape" and "sexual molestation of children" has been carried out.

According to a report by China Daily, the defendant, named Cang Longci, who worked at a local school in Jingning County of Pingliang city, was convicted of raping 5 girls aged between 8 and 12, and sexually molesting 17 girls aged between 8 and 14.

Following the rejection of the defendant's appeal against the death sentence issued by the local court by the Gansu High Court, the sentence was carried out on November 7.

It was noted that the local education administration provided psychological assistance and support to the students affected by the crime, and the primary school where the incident took place was closed and merged with another school.
