Prison sentence for former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Pakistan
A court in Pakistan has sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to 10 years in prison each, after they were accused of "leaking state secrets" and held in custody during their trial.

According to reports in the Pakistani press, Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain verbally delivered the court's decision to former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Qureshi, who are being held at Adiala Prison in Rawalpindi, stating that they have each received a 10-year prison sentence in the case where they were tried for leaking state secrets.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari noted that they would appeal the prison sentences handed down to Khan and Qureshi to a higher court.
HE WAS ARRESTED ON AUGUST 5, 2023
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was apprehended by police and sent to prison on August 5, 2023, following an arrest warrant issued by the court in a corruption case for which he was being tried.
