Ryan Montgomery, a professional cybersecurity expert known for exposing 'immoral people' on the internet, has warned that people are being 'watched by private cameras' while online.
Montgomery regularly shares advice on how to stay safe online.
Posting a message on the social media platform TikTok, Montgomery stated that people are being 'watched through their private cameras' by malicious individuals online.
The famous hacker claimed, 'People are watching your private cameras and posting them on popular websites.'
Montgomery explained that he first searched Google for controllable webcams and, as a result of this search, reached a popular forum.
In his TikTok message, Montgomery said, 'The first post I saw was a water park in the Czech Republic posted 11 days ago,' adding, 'Then I started looking at other posts and saw that there were controllable cameras, meaning they could move, tilt, and pan the cameras without a password.'
Continuing his message, Montgomery mentioned the 'immoral' content he encountered as a result of his search and noted the following:
'Then I started searching for other terms and saw some really inappropriate content. When I researched the subject in more detail, I realized that there were communities with more than 2,000 members, and 200 of them are still active today.'
Montgomery stated that the best thing to do is to search for the model of the cameras in your home on Google and ensure that they are not being broadcast on the internet.
