Protests increase in Pakistan, access to X restricted
As protests against the results of the February 8 elections continue in Pakistan, access to the social media platform X has been restricted across the country.

The London-based website "Netblocks," which monitors global internet access, announced in a post on its social media account that there is an interruption in access to X across Pakistan.
Thousands of people have reacted against the restriction of access to X on social media.
Access to X was also restricted on February 10, while vote counting was ongoing for the National Assembly and provincial assembly elections held in the country on February 8.
SOME POLITICAL PARTIES CLAIM THEIR VOTES WERE STOLEN
In Pakistan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party of imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan, is organizing protests across the country on the grounds that the February 8 elections were rigged.
Although the PTI emerged as the leading party in the elections, it claims that votes were stolen in numerous electoral districts and shifted to candidates of rival parties. Some political parties also argue that their votes were stolen.
The Election Commission of Pakistan announced the results of the National Assembly and provincial assembly elections held on February 8 on February 11.
According to official results, PTI-backed independent candidates finished the elections in first place, while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, finished in second place.
