Putin meets with Kyrgyz President Japarov

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov. Meeting at the Kremlin with Japarov, who is in Moscow for a working visit, Putin said, "Mr. Japarov, dear friends, good day. We are very pleased to host you in Moscow.

We recently met in Minsk as part of our work within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

I believe the meeting there was quite successful and yielded positive results, thanks to the contributions of the host country. As for our bilateral relations, we welcome the opportunity to review all aspects of our cooperation during your working visit," he said.

Touching upon economic issues during the meeting, Putin stated, "Our progress in this area is solid and stable. Last year, the trade volume increased by over 11 percent, and in the first four months of this year, it showed an increase of more than 17 percent. This shows that we are achieving the results we aimed for. Numerous Russian companies are operating in Kyrgyzstan. Russia continues to be one of Kyrgyzstan's main trade and economic partners, and this is supported by our plans for the future. The well-known investment fund continues to work effectively. A significant number of projects have already been implemented, and they play an important role in the development of the Kyrgyz economy," he said.

"WE ALSO HAVE PLANS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF SCHOOLS PROVIDING EDUCATION IN RUSSIAN"

Noting that they attach great importance to cultural cooperation and especially education, the Russian President said, "Currently, about 200 Russian teachers are working in 43 schools across Kyrgyzstan. We have recently started new school construction projects, and we also have plans to increase the number of schools providing education in Russian. I would like to specifically emphasize the special status given to the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan and thank you for this. This allows us to work more efficiently in many areas, including the economic sphere. Given the scale of our bilateral relations, there are, of course, many issues that need to be addressed. I am very happy to welcome you and your delegation again," he expressed.

I hope that we will be able to exchange views on further advancing the Kyrgyz-Russian strategic partnership and alliance for the benefit of both countries.
