Putin meets with US negotiators Witkoff and Kushner

Russian President Vladimir Putin received Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner at the Kremlin in Moscow. Witkoff and Kushner arrived at the Kremlin in a motorcade after leaving a restaurant in Moscow. Putin greeted his guests warmly with a handshake. During the press-open portion of the meeting held in the ceremonial office of the Kremlin Senate Palace, Putin stated that he planned to discuss all options for achieving a resolution in Ukraine with Witkoff and Kushner.

Expressing great confidence in Witkoff and Kushner, who are serving as mediators in the resolution process in Ukraine, Putin noted that Russia is pleased to work with the two US negotiators. Putin also remarked that Trump remains committed to helping resolve the conflict and that such meetings are always beneficial.

The meeting also addressed Russia’s decision to halt its attacks on Kyiv for 3 days, effective as of midnight tonight. It was noted that the Kyiv administration has also significantly reduced its attacks on Moscow in response. Witkoff thanked Putin for the decision.

It was noted that this was the sixth meeting between Putin and the US special envoys, Witkoff and Kushner.

In a statement to the press yesterday, Trump said that Witkoff and Kushner were traveling to Russia with "a proposal to end the war."

Witkoff and Kushner are expected to travel to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, tomorrow to hold further meetings.
