Russian leader Vladimir Putin has officially become the president of Russia for the 5th time following the swearing-in ceremony. Approximately 2,600 guests, including members of the Federation Council, the Duma, and the Constitutional Court, as well as members of the press and citizens, attended the Russian presidential inauguration ceremony.
During the ceremony, which was broadcast live by Russian television channels, Putin took the oath by placing his hand on a copy of the Constitution of Russia.
In his speech at the ceremony, Putin thanked the citizens who re-elected him and emphasized that the interests and security of the Russian people are more important to him than anything else.
"Russian citizens have confirmed that the country's course is correct. This is of great importance at a moment when we are facing serious challenges," said Putin, continuing as follows:
"I am confident that we will overcome this difficult turning point with pride, that we will become even stronger, and that we will certainly implement our long-term plans and large-scale projects aimed at achieving development goals. Protecting people is a priority. I am confident that the support given to centuries-old family values and traditions will continue to unite public and religious associations, political parties, and every level of government."
Stating that they intend to establish good relations with many countries, Putin noted the following:
"We have been and will remain open to strengthening good relations with all countries that see Russia as a reliable and honest partner. These countries, in fact, make up the global majority. We are not abandoning dialogue with Western states. Will they continue to try to hinder Russia's development, continue their policy of aggression, and maintain the pressure that has been on our country for years, or will they seek a path toward cooperation and peace? The choice is theirs."
Expressing that they will continue their efforts toward creating a multipolar world order and an equal and indivisible security system, Putin emphasized that for this reason, his country must be strong against all kinds of difficulties and threats to its social and political system.
