Reason for Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei's absence from public view explained

Mazaher Hosseini, protocol officer for the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, made statements regarding the events of the February 28 attack by the US and Israel targeting Khamenei's residence, as well as Khamenei's health status.

Speaking at a public meeting, Hosseini stated that he was also in the office during the attack and shared details about the moment of the incident.

"They were systematically striking his location"

Hosseini stated that the area where Khamenei was located was directly targeted during the attack, saying, "We were in the office during the bombardment. The place where General Shirazi and his colleagues were located was hit about 30 meters away from us. The area where Ali Khamenei was located was targeted about 70-80 meters from us. There were a few of us inside during the missile and air strikes. Ali Khamenei was in a place where Mojtaba Khamenei usually gives lectures, but they were not there that day. They completely leveled that place. They were systematically striking his location," he said.

"He sustained minor injuries to his lower back and leg"

Stating that Mojtaba Khamenei was thrown to the ground by the impact of the attack, Hosseini said, "He sustained minor injuries to his lower back and leg, but he recovered in a short time. His health is currently good and he is on the verge of a full recovery. All the claims made about him being injured on his forehead are completely baseless. Only a small wound formed behind his ear. Other than that, there is no serious injury as described," he stated.

"He will speak to the public when the time comes"

Regarding the claims that Khamenei is being kept away from the public, Hosseini pointed to security reasons. Hosseini said, "The enemy is pursuing different goals by obtaining his image or voice through various rumors and excuses. For this reason, there is no rush for now. When the time comes, he will speak directly to the public. His health, resilience, and power to lead the people are fully intact," he said.
